Angela Ellsworth
Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant
Hi, I'm Angela Ellsworth, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant. I specialize in helping families get better sleep. Specifically I work with babies and children from 4 weeks to 4 years old, on whatever sleep issue you might be having. I take a holistic approach to sleep - looking at sleep environment, naps, bedtime routine, overnight sleep, daily schedule and nutrition - and form a personalized sleep plan for your child and your family situation. Then over the course of 2 weeks, I support you in implementing the plan by phone, text and email. I also offer in-home consultations if you would like help you implement a specific settling technique or sleep training method, look at your sleep environment, or just offer in-person support.

A bit about me:
As a mom of 3 littles, I've had my fair share of challenges with sleep. With my first child, who is now 5, I didn't know what sleep training was. I just fed and
rocked him to sleep whenever he needed it, and woke up multiple times during the night to feed on demand.
I didn't know there was another way. Finally a fellow mom told me about a sleep book I should read, but I was too exhausted to read it. One afternoon, 14 months in, I reached a breaking point. I asked my husband to watch the baby and I read part of the book and came up with a plan, which we started that day. My life, my mind, and my energy quickly came back. I could enjoy this precious time with my child again, instead of being so sleep deprived that every moment was like slogging through mud.

Then came twins! With my twins, who are now 3, I knew from the beginning that things had to be different. We had to teach them to sleep and try our best to keep them on a regular schedule, otherwise, I'd be up all night long.

I am passionate about sleep, for everyone in your family. For babies and small children, sleep is essential for brain development, immune function, storing new memories, regulating emotions, cognitive function, and just being in a good mood.
My Philosophy
Deep, restorative sleep is essential for a happy and healthy family. We all know how hard it is to thrive, to feel a sense of joy around around this beautiful family we created, when we feel like we are just slogging through our days with little or interrupted sleep.

Every family, and every child is different. I consider your unique circumstances, your parenting philosophy, your goals, and your child's temperament to form an individualized sleep plan for your child - AND for you - because as a parent you have to be comfortable and happy with the plan in order to carry it out consistently.

There are many different sleep training methods out there. From gentle, in-the-room techniques to cry-based methods and everything in between - I work with all of them.
But what will work for your child, and your family, depends on what suits your child best, and your temperament as parents, and your parenting philosophy or beliefs. You can be assured that I will take all of these factors into consideration when I create a sleep plan personalized for your child. I will present options to you - so that ultimately you are choosing what would work best for your family.

Teaching your baby or child to sleep well goes beyond a settling technique or sleep training. So much of what happens at night is affected by what happens during the day. This is why I take a comprehensive approach - looking at the daily schedule, naps, bedtime routine, sleep environment and nutrition - to craft a plan that will address the whole picture.
